Blue Tees Golf Player Pro GPS Speaker

The Player Pro is a magnetic golf speaker with a color touchscreen that shows front, center and back yardages, hazards and your score right on the cart.

Why it made the list

The Player Pro is Blue Tees’ touchscreen GPS speaker, and it costs less than the Bushnell Wingman HD. The screen shows front, center and back yardages, hazard distances, a hole view and your score, so you can get the number without digging out your phone. Blue Tees says it works standalone for yardages, scoring and music.

It also covers the basics a cart speaker needs. The heavy-duty magnet is built for bumpy cart paths, the housing is rated IP67, and the 360 degree sound is meant to reach everyone in the cart.

What it does well

• Front, center and back distances and hazards at 42,000+ courses are free, with no subscription.
• Blue Tees says the touchscreen resists glare and works with golf gloves on.
• Auracast lets you link as many Player Pro speakers as you want, all playing in sync.
• Shot tracking measures how far each shot went, right on the screen.
• A programmable action button and a round timer are built in.

Auracast is the standout for groups. At an outing or a scramble, every cart can play the same music at once.

Who it’s for

This suits golfers who ride, want to see their numbers instead of only hearing them, and would like to spend less than a Wingman HD. It also works well for groups and events because of the unlimited Auracast pairing.

Who should skip it

If you dislike app plans, know that the smartest features sit in the GAME AI package. If you walk and carry your bag, a smaller clip-on speaker makes more sense. And if you already own a rangefinder and only want music, a plain Bluetooth golf speaker is cheaper.

Key specs, explained

IP67 means the speaker is dust tight and can survive a brief drop in water, so rain, wet carts and bunker sand are fine. Blue Tees does not publish a battery hour figure on its product page; one large US retailer lists it at up to three full rounds per charge. It charges by USB-C. The course database covers more than 42,000 courses worldwide, and yardages update as you move.

How it compares

The Bushnell Wingman HD GPS Speaker has a 3.5-inch color screen and Bushnell’s BITE magnetic mount, but it costs more and its premium extras need a Bushnell Golf Plus plan. If you want Blue Tees yardages for less money and are fine hearing them instead of seeing them, the Blue Tees Player Go GPS Speaker reads front, center and back distances out loud.

Good to know

The GAME AI package adds True Distance “plays like” yardages, AI club suggestions, the Scout AI caddie and post-round analytics. New speakers include six months free, and after that it bills at $79 a year. You can cancel at any time. Blue Tees also offers a two-year warranty and 100-day returns on its own store.

Questions about the Player Pro

Does the Player Pro need a subscription?

No, front, center and back yardages and hazards are free for life. The GAME AI package is optional and adds club suggestions, adjusted yardages and stats.

Does the Player Pro need my phone?

No, Blue Tees says it works on its own for yardages, scoring and music. You use the GAME app for the extra AI features.

Can I use the Player Pro at home?

Yes, it works as a normal Bluetooth speaker anywhere. The golf features simply sit unused until you get to the course.
