Bushnell Pro X3+ LINK

The Bushnell Pro X3+ is Bushnell’s flagship laser, now sold as the Pro X3+LINK, with a Locking Slope-Switch, temperature and altitude adjustment, and a wind readout.

Why it made the list

Slope alone does not tell you how far a shot will play on a cold, high-altitude day. The Pro X3+ adds temperature and altitude to its slope math through what Bushnell calls Elements, and it shows wind speed and direction after a quick calibration. The current version from Bushnell is the Pro X3+LINK.

The Locking Slope-Switch also stops slope from coming on by accident, which keeps you legal in a club event. The listed price is $599.99.

What it does well

The dual display switches between red and black readouts. Red shows up better against dark trees and in low light, while black is crisp in bright sun.

PinSeeker gives clear confirmation when you lock the flag: a red ring flashes and JOLT vibrates. You know you have the pin before you pull a club.

A Home Elevation setting adjusts distances relative to your home course’s elevation, so a trip to a mountain course gives numbers that match how far you hit it at home.

The integrated BITE magnetic mount sticks it to a cart bar, and it is IPX7 waterproof.

Who it’s for

This suits golfers who play a lot of wind and elevation, or who travel to mountain courses and want plays-like numbers that account for altitude and temperature.

Who should skip it

At 12 oz it is one of the heavier lasers, and if you play flat courses in mild weather, the extra features add little. A cheaper Bushnell covers most rounds.

Key specs, explained

Magnification is 7x through a 28mm objective, with a 340 ft field of view at 1,000 yards. Range is 5 to 1,300 yards, and Bushnell says it gives readings within a yard to flags at 600+ yards. It measures 4.75 x 1.7 x 3.25 inches and runs on one CR2 battery, which comes included.

How it compares

The Bushnell A1-Slope costs $299.99, weighs 5.1 oz and recharges over USB-C, but has 6x magnification, an LCD and no wind or Elements. The Bushnell Tour V7 Shift costs $399.99 with slope, an OLED display and 6x magnification. The Pro X3+ is the one for golfers who want wind and altitude data.

Good to know

LINK features work with Foresight Sports or Bushnell launch monitors, sold separately, through the MyBag feature in the Bushnell Golf app, which uses your stock yardages to suggest clubs on the display. It has Bluetooth for these features. The box includes a premium carrying case, a microfiber cloth, a CR2 battery and a quick start guide. Bushnell gives it a 2-year limited warranty.

Questions about the Bushnell Pro X3+

Is the Pro X3+ tournament legal?

Yes, when you turn Slope and Elements off it gives straight-line distance only. Lock the switch in that position for events.

Do I need a launch monitor for LINK?

Only for the club suggestion feature, which needs a Foresight Sports or Bushnell launch monitor. The laser works fully without one.

What is the difference between the Pro X3+ and Pro X3+LINK?

Bushnell now sells the current version as the Pro X3+LINK, with LINK-enabled club suggestions added. The core laser specs on Bushnell’s page match the Pro X3+ listing.
